The Sayre Theatre located at 205 South Elmer Avenue, Sayre was originally the Sayre Opera House. It was designed by the firm, T.I. Lacey & Son. The Sayre Opera House made it’s opening in 1914.

The original auditorium featured offered 750 seats.

By 1923, the Comeford Theater Corporation took over the operations of the Sayre Theatre.

By 1995, the Bradford County Regional Arts Council (BCRAC) obtained ownership. The BCRAC invested a great deal of time and money to transform the single movie theater into a triplex state of the art facility. The Sayre Theater has been transformed into the area’s performance art center and features three movie theaters.
