Annual Dinner Meeting at Celebrations, 100 S. Elmer Avenue.
Doors open at 11:00 am, meeting starts at 11:30 $15 per person

Lecture by Deb Twigg of the Susquehanna Valley Archaeological Center. Carantouan (Spanish Hill) was the site of the first European, Entienne Brule, arrive in Pennsylvania. Lecture starts at 11:00 at the Sayre Public Library, 122 S. Elmer Avenue, Sayre.
May 2, 2026
the Sayre Historical Society Museum opens for the season. Hours are Saturday 10am – 4 pm and Sunday from noon to 4 pm. Free admission, donations to help us keep the lights on are always welcome.
June 13, 2026
History Fair 10 am - 2 pm. Share your Sayre artifacts with the public. The museum will have some of their collection on display. Free admission, donations to help us keep the lights on are always welcome.
July 11, 2026
Antique Appraisal Day. Registration starts at 10 am at the museum. Appraisals start at 11 am. Join us for our own "Antiques Roadshow." There is a fee for each appraisal, but no charge to attend. (Chairs will be provided.)
August 19, 2026
History Under the Stars. Starts at 8pm on the museum lawn. This year’s speaker is Jim Nobles with a slide show "Then and Now Around Sayre." Free admission, but BYOC (Bring your own chair.)
September 12, 2026
Trolley and Bus Day. 10am – 2pm. Rides start at 10 am. Presentation of the history of trolleys and buses in the Valley by Jonathan Gulyas. Jon is the author of our new book, Streetcars to Buses. Presentation starts at 1pm.
October 15, 2026
Visitors from the Past. This is our annual event with reinactors telling memories and stories of their lives. First tour starts at 4:30 pm. 4:30 – 6:30 pm Free admission.
November 27, 2026
Sayre’s Christmas Parade. The Sayre Historical Society will celebrate the end of America’s Semiquincentennial.
November 28, 2026
Model Train Day 10 am to 2 pm at the Museum Our annual event is enjoyed by all. Bring the kids to see the trains. Vendors Available. Doors open at 10 am. Presenter’s program starts at 1 pm. Free
Admission.
The museum will be closed from November 29, 2026 until reopening for the 2027 season.
