New Park Hotel
The building located at 119 South Elmer Avenue, Sayre was originally a school house. In 1891, the school house was moved from its current location on South Elmer Avenue by a team of horses while rolling over logs to be re-opened as a hotel. It was re-opened as a hotel. The Park Hotel came to being. The Park Hotel eventually became known as The New Park Hotel has enjoyed a long history in Sayre.
However, in the late 1900’s time was taking a toll on the building. With the lack of being maintained, the building fell into disrepair yet continued on as a local watering hole. In 2000, the owners of the New Park Hotel closed it’s doors. The building rapidly continued to decline.
By 2004, new owners arrived on the scene. The building went through extension rehabilitation to bring the building back to it’s former glory. It was opened up in 2006, as the Brie Marie Inn. Here you could dine, enjoy the bar, or stay a few nights in the updated rooms.
Today, the building is for sale.
